Welcome to the family!
It might sound a bit like a commercial for the Olive Garden, but if you’re here, you’re part of the Stev Skye family. And if you know Stev’s immediate family, you know that’s pretty much the case – there’s never a shortage of hugs, kisses and love (or food!) to go around for anyone who is lucky enough to know them. Ever.
I’ve experienced “the family” firsthand – and that’s really how the idea of this fan site came to be (it’s totally not some creepy man-crush I have for Stev). You see, it’s way more than just Stev’s music. His music is really OUR music. We are all the basic ingredients that go into making Stev’s music and he wouldn’t have it any other way.
The purpose of this site is to celebrate all that goes into the music of Stev Skye and “the family” is a big, big part of that. Here you’ll get all the cool tidbits that you won’t get anywhere else. Sometimes we’ll get into the guitar and gear that Stev likes. Other times we’ll talk about Jimi Hendrix, David Gilmour, Stevie Ray and other musical inspirations. But most of the fun of this site will be in the out-of-left-field stories that I can relay about Stev and what makes him tick. . .not like TMZ so much, but more grassroots and personal. I can tell you that the paparazzi have never played swimming pool volleyball with Stev Skye or watched David Gilmour and Pink Floyd DVDs with Stev in his home studio just for fun. So rest assured, you’re going to get a most unique perspective as we chronicle this journey for the true fans.
A bit of background. . .
You all know Stev Skye, which of course is his stage name. Stev also has a real name, but you probably already know it – and you might even know how to spell it!
As long as we’re going with stage names, then I’m gonna do it, too. I am holySmith! and I am the administrator of this facility. I, too, have a real name, but even if I told you what it is, you probably wouldn’t believe me.
I met Stev through his parents. They, too, have stage names:
- Grammy – She’s not just a prestigious award for musicians – oh no – she’s much, much more. Grammy is the official mother of Stev Skye and the official grandmother of Stev’s daughter. Grammy is the absolute best and I am not just saying that because she makes the best food in the history of eating. Seriously.
- Dziadzia – It sounds like “Jah-Gee” when you say it, but no matter how you say it, he’s a hell of a guy and a friend ’til the end. Dziadzia is the official father of Stev Skye and the official grandfather of Stev’s daughter. In fact, the word means ‘grandpa’ in Polish. Or you can call him Steve. Either way, he drives a Harley. . .’nuff said.
The list doesn’t end there by any means. The list of people who will be mentioned here is long and distinguished – friends, family, and so forth. If you don’t already come equipped with a stage name, then one will be issued to you (it’s more fun that way).
