I am one-part filled with disbelief (and some profanity) and two parts filled with ‘Pride and Joy’ to keep the Stevie Ray theme going. . .Stev Skye did not emerge victorious in Dallas tonight at the King of the Blues contest, but that’s OK – and I’m not just sayin’ that.
While it is certainly disappointing on some levels, it has been a major source of excitement for Stev and all of us friends and family who have been enjoying his King of the Blues performances for the past several weeks. For those, we say thanks, Stev! It certainly has been an exciting time, indeed.
At the end of the day, this is an end of one chapter of the story, but more importantly, the beginning to the next chapter of the Stev Skye story. To quote the great Obi-Wan Kenobi, “you’ve taken your first step into a larger world.” Not only does this re-enforce that everything I know I learned from Star Wars, but it also shows that this contest is a great stepping stone for Stev’s career. The King of the Blues contest has opened up new doors for Stev, and for all of us. In Stev’s progress and success, will and determination, we see the potential in ourselves of what could be. . .and what will be.
I can’t think of a more exciting way to bring together friends, family and fans. This proves that Stev is a great talent surrounded by an endless team of support who will be with him all the way.
And I think we’ve got a long, long way to go.
Congrats, dude. Seriously.
